i paddle because of: the tradition, the meaning, the teamwork, the pride, the pain, the suffering, the feeling of molding 6 into 1, my family.
What Club do you paddle with?
Hui Lokahi O' Ke Kai
About Me:
Instead of me talking about myself, here is what THEY SAY ABOUT ME....(this is me to a tee)
When you talk, people listen. When you lead, people follow. You’re into mellow. You like it when you have time to sort things out and figure out the best way to get it done. You think ahead. You invest in yourself. What you do today will pay off tomorrow. You have a brain and you use it. You read books without pictures in them. You went school to get ahead, you do it right. There’s one person you can always count on — you. You do it best on your own. You like living on the edge. Outrigger paddling, bodyboarding, the ocean… you’re down with sports and anything that gives you a thrill. No surprises. That’s what you’re about. You like knowing ahead of time what’s going to happen and what’s expected of you. You don’t like to compete — you LOVE TO COMPETE. Competition brings out the best in you...WORD!!!

During the paddle, Greg asked the stroker to pause a bit longer and Paul(sitting 2) snapped at him. When we got back to the beach Paul just went off on Greg in a profanity laced tirade. They needed to be separated. You are correct, if the group does not start acting like a team they will never improve. I may start paddling on my own more, I don't want that type of energy on my personal time. This is not my job, this is my fun time.

Your decision is looking better by the minute, another huge blowup today. Paul went after Greg and it got really ugly. Ohana??????

SCORA does a series of winter races for OC-1 starting in La Jolla cove in November. You might look into, very fun. I did them last year on the paddleboard, different venues that go through March or so. The offer to try my paddleboard still stands.Stay in touch, sorry to see you go. But I understand your thought process, too bad the wrong people are leaving the club.

I kind of figured you were a little disenchanted with the group(heard about the Tuesday night debacle). Ihave injured a bit, but have been doing a lot of two man with Greg and even started using my paddleboard. Are you using the Lokahi OC-1 or do you have one? Are you going to do any of the SCORA OC-1 races during the winter? Hope you don't leave, always enjoy your company, but I understand your point of view.

I have been using my paddle board a bit lately. If you still want to try it let me know. I will meet you down at the beach with the board. What have you been up to?
