It's fun, and hard out and you meet heaps of people and fish.
I have learned so many cool lessons through waka ama and met people all over the world. When we race ,we go hard out and when we play we play hard out. Our whanau kaupapa is to respect first and foremost, to contribute in a positive manner and to enjoy the journey.
What Club do you paddle with?
Belong to Taniwha WOCC and Kaha Wahine o Aotearoa.
About Me:
I love all sports and having fun. My two boys keep my feet firmly on the ground, and my hands reaching for the stars.
I play rugby and softball when I'm not on the water. My downtime is spent reading or immersed in music and art.

sorry for taking so long to reply been so busy. That be awesome if worlds are held back in nz that 1 event not to miss. How did the first 10k go at Maraetai? are they still held every 2nd weekend? i heard weather not the best at all over there. We paddle sheltered at the moment. Occasionally we go open ocean and yes the coastline is beautiful i love paddling along it.
take care.
Hey Audrey! Lesley from California again.....already have two champion kiwis on board for Catalina- would love to add you to our roster....given any more thought to coming?

i paddled for portage for a couple of years and moved here in perth in 2007 and planning to move back to mangere bridge next year. I now paddle for a club in perth 'foccers'. We are only at training season during winter our regattas start in october through to early april. When and where are the next world sprints? i have also yet to find out if we can get a team from here to paddle in the nats at karapiro. Maybe not as competitiors but to give this perth lot a feel of it.
