Aloha Miss. Gehrt!
I just sent you an invitation to our facebook page....have no idea why its soo hard to find on FB? Whats up with that? hope you hadd a good day.
Got it....as far as the club goes you have some good ideas....and again thank you for the recruiting props....it appears today that our club has the good fortune of picking up a Bradley this week (currently, as I am sure you have seen, we are using Maleas..so the step up in boat should be welcomed...and its going to be a big change) which i hope will push the club to look at possibly getting to "team" together we will discuss that at our next board meeting...with regards to seats, its all open....and we try to get poeple into seats they express interest in or possibly would bennifit from being in. I got your info and will contact you later this week. Dont know if you have a FaceBook page or not but our club has one (VOCC or Ventura Outrigger Canoe Club) and if you would like to take a look feel free, and we are open to everyone joining in the Aloha Spirit as well as our Ohana...Hope you have a great Monday evening....looking foorward to seeing you on the water....
Aloha Joanna,
VOCC is not the same club...I guess the question that should be first asked is are you looking to compete or just paddle? VOCC is more of a social club although we do have a a core group of paddlers that are looking to be serious in what they do and have a ton of paddling experience on many different levels....dues are 150.00 a year if i am not mistaken...paddles are from 9 to 11:00 am Tues + Thurs as well as Sundays 9:00 to 11:00 I think that there is also a Sat am paddle and during srping/summer/fall we have Friday evening paddles as well 5:30 to 7:00pm...you should come out some Sunday for a paddle there is no commitment...if you like then great and if not then thats cool to...the big thing about our club is the people invloved are really good people filled with the Aloha spirit...I do some steering but I am by no means a coach...something to strive for I guess..so Im recruiting on the side ;^)
After looking at your profile info looks like you have..if you are ever interested please come and paddle with us (VOCC). If you have any questions regarding the club or paddle times, please feel free to give me a call 805-443-7834.
