ALOHA FELLOW PADDLERS,
The 5th annual Toronto Harbour Challenge is set to go again with two days of competitive racing and fun on July 4 and 5 at the Toronto Sailing and Canoe Club, based on the scenic Lake Ontario and Toronto Harbour shoreline.

"Heaven is being on the water".
Love @ first sight for me! I was hooked first 10 sec's of my first time paddling. I love being on the water. Winter months seem waaaaay too long in Toronto while I wait, itching to go paddle, I'm sure paddlers can relate to that urge. Toronto summers are perfect for paddling & racing but they just fly by.
What Club do you paddle with?
Wai Nui O Kanakā & Toronto Outrigger
About Me:
I've paddled dragon boat for 10 years & outrigger canoe for only few years. I did my first OC6 race in July 2008 in Toronto and I was hooked. I had the privilege of paddling with Nappy Napoleon in Toronto.
A month later I went to Hawaii to race the Queen Liliuokalani in Kona. After spending time in Hawaii, paddling & specifically Outrigger canoe wasn't "just a sport" anymore, it was a culture and a lifestyle with an amazing Polynesian history. I fell in love with Hawaii and the wonderful people of Hawaii who taught me many life lessons in the short period of time that I was there. I can't wait to go back. Mahalo
The winter pic was a few years back travelling from Vancouver to Kel. Over one of the summit passes. It was about -20. The canoes get very brittle and usually i don't tie down in the fron but any chatter can snap the hull.
I am out for sprints as I had an injury that was just repaired surgically. But will begin training in about another month. I will paddle down to about 5 degrees than xc skate skiing is more enjoyable. Plus erg workouts...
We met for the Sacramento World Sprints last year.. Steve Steered and Keven was 5 seat in Canada 1. I was 3 seat... They are both fun guys that really worked hard and I enjoyed meeting and racing with them. Ask Kevin if he has found a blade that won't break under his punishing pulls!
Hi Hedia, my new toy is a Kia Kaha, made by Woogie on the Gold Coast (AU)
He's also a member here. They have made some very special custom blades recently, and mine is no exception. It also paddles a dream, with a larger profile, it suits OC1 very well.
