Profile Information

Why do you love to paddle?
I am a paddling junkie. I have been paddling canoes for thirty five years but only started paddling outrigger canoes a few years ago. Now I am hooked on ocean paddling which is a bit of a problem when you live 250km from the nearest ocean.
What Club do you paddle with?
Inland Outrigger Canoe Club Inc.
About Me:
I love paddling in the ocean but my best results are in ultra marathon river races. I live on the banks of the beautiful Murray River at Echuca famous for its inland Port and Paddlesteamers. Our dedicated band of outrigger paddlers are known as the Inland Outriggers!

"If today was your last day"

The music says it all, check out my movie, what better way to spend a day then paddling with a mate in conditions meant for pirating. We were the only craft on the bay that day with strong wind warnings. I couldn't drive over the West Gate Bridge to get to Mentone because the canoe would of blown off the car.
We use five Hero3 GoPro's and AVS4YOU software to produce the movie cutting three hours of footage to three minutes. I hope you enjoy the movie as much as I had fun paddling it. It was my f… Continue

Rambo's Boot Camp, the Movie.

The vid is of the Clarkies family trip to Mooloolaba for Rambo's Boot camp where Mrs Clarkie received instruction on the basics of outriggers and Clarkie was given some tips on downwind racing by one of the masters. Check out the start of the South Queensland OC1/2 series race. For someone with a new canoe it was very hairy with a couple of canoes actually jumping the front of China Polly. 80 canoes in the start. (Think one of them was you H)

Outlaws Go Inland Video.

The Outlaws travelled to Echuca, Australia's largest inland port of the early 1900's. Wool was shipped by Paddlesteamers from all over the Murray/Darling basin to Echuca where it was carried by rail to Melbourne and distrubuted all over the world. Now a mecca for Tourists and those with an adventurous spirit. Home to the 404km Murray River Canoe Marathon held between Christmas and New year.

Hey Clarkie
I saw that the Outlaw #9 race short course coming up ends at POINT ADDIS !
Emmmm??? Will it be the right side of the beach coming in or the left.
If it's the right side does that mean I have to take just my top off or everything???

Hey Clarkie!, i love the new boat!! and especially the ama, it feels like its not even there it "usually" rides lightly on the surface with little or no drag, and yes the seat area is a lot like the zepher, very comfortable!
