Sarcasm

As the first topic, I would like to ask that paddlers keep there sarcasm to a minimum, or better yet lets agree to keep the sarcasm out of it, As great a site as OCPaddler.com is, There is an awful lot of sarcasm that really dilutes the greatness that these forums can have. I know many paddlers that won't post out of fear that whatever they say will be made fun of. The beauty of this site is that most people put there real name and pictures, rather than hiding under a screen name. Here we also see who the friends are, This should also help tame the masses. Especially if you have lots or friends or at least big ones.
OCPaddler has a huge reader base, but a relatively small posting group. I would really like to see this site be the total opposite.

Permalink Reply by Tim Streeter on April 10, 2008 at 8:42pm: good and bad on OCPaddler like anything else. the inside references to long running posts and (sorry guys) "web geek" status of the dialogue, (they even have a post on who has the most posts), creates an uncomfortable atmosphere for the casual, social browser; however, they also often have amazing advice and real life perspective which can be very valuable to all. everyone has a home and, the basic setup of this space should lead to a more social forum. time will tell. t; ▶ Reply to This
